Description
The Medi-Cal Dental Workshop training combines key content from both the Basic and EDI and Advanced seminars. It includes two (2) hours of Basic and EDI Seminar instruction and four (4) hours of Advanced Seminar instruction, along with dedicated time for hands‑on form completion. This training gives new or inexperienced billing staff the opportunity to actively practice and build confidence while learning the requirements of Medi‑Cal Dental.
A Provider Trainer and Dental Consultant conduct the six (6) hour Workshop, and each attendee may receive six (6) units of Continuing Education by completing this seminar.
A Provider Trainer and Dental Consultant deliver the six (6) hour Workshop. Attendees may receive six (6) Continuing Education credits for completing the seminar and are encouraged to complete a training evaluation after each session to provide feedback and overall satisfaction.

Objectives
The workshop topics are as follows:
- Understanding the Medi-Cal Dental enrollment, certification, criteria and policies and procedures.
- How to complete and submit claims and Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs).
- Direct Deposit participation.
- The Automated Eligibility Verification System (AEVS).
- How to bill for commonly used procedure codes and complete other miscellaneous forms.
- How to provide member services for California Children's Services (CCS), Genetically Handicapped Persons Program (GHPP), hospital cases, and processing claims.
- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Other support services.
